SUMMARY:GREAT VLY PADDLE
DESCRIPTION:Please register with trip leader Wendy Tocci (wtocci@gmail.com ) to participate in this outing.  Limited parking at the DEC lot and launch make a large group difficult. “Hostess” Amy Fradon will treat attendees to a post paddle nosh overlooking the marsh.   In the late summer and into early fall this location can be very attractive to migrant shorebirds and even terns. The Vly is always a good spot to visit for species loyal to marsh habitat like Gruiformes and bitterns and a quiet paddle should allow for close inspection of some of these target species. To reach the parking area from US 9W north of Saugerties\, turn west on West Camp Road and continue 1.2 miles to the short (unpaved) access road on the right which is flanked by posts with NYS DEC signage. Latitude\, Longitude: 42°08’06″N\, 73°56’40″W
