TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, ELECTION DAY SPARROW WALKS NORTH/SOUTH

A last minute change to offer two walks on Election Day and make it much easier to perform your civic duty. Since it’s Election Day the real twist will be which walk will have more species (votes) and will Vice President Deb Weltsch be installed as our next President or will Mark carry on with his life sentence.
Muck boots and layered clothing are always a good idea regardless of the destination.
Deb Weltsch ( dweltsch13@gmail.com ) will lead the announced walk at one of her favorite patches in Nyquist/Harcourt Sanctuary in New Paltz and hope for some unkempt gardens to pad her sparrow list. Contact Deb to register and to find out meet up time.
Mark DeDea ( forsythnature@aol.com ) will visit Seed Song Farm in the Town of Ulster (which we can pretty much guarantee will be unkempt) and provide candy on this short morning walk. Contact Mark to register and to find out meet up time.

All participants should be aware of existing guidelines and new field trip protocol listed below:
Participant responsibility agreement while attending a JBNHS field trip: By registering, each participant acknowledges their acceptance of the Individual’s Responsibilities.
Individual’s Responsibilities are:
- To stay with the group, follow trip leader’s requests, and do not separate unless you notify trip leader
- To understand that out-of-doors activities involve hazards and that one participates at one’s own risk
- To wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the terrain, and for sun and insect challenges as well
- To adhere to the ABA Birding Code of Ethics, respect and preserve the flora, fauna, and properties we visit
- To be mindful and courteous to other participants
Additionally:
- Optics may be shared if those involved are comfortable with doing so
- Carpooling is at the discretion of participants.
- Preregistration is required for all field trips and participation may be limited.
