Each year through various efforts, JBNHS raises money for local community and environmental causes and youth scholarships to attend a variety of fun, educational outdoor/nature related camps. We have also sponsored local research on Northern Saw Whet Owls and help fund wildlife rehabilitation in our area. As an organization we contribute regularly to the only National Wildlife Refuge Shawangunk Grasslands) in Ulster County providing the gazebo at the refuge, and funding to help with a pollinator garden and the installation of a new refuge entrance sign. We have created a brochure and matching “Where to Bird” signage now at four locations to promote birding in Ulster County. JBNHS currently provides five area libraries with Naturalist Backpacks and hopes to expand that program in the future. If you would like to contribute to our efforts please help out with a donation online by using the donate button below or by sending a check to JBNHS at 281 West Chestnut St, Kingston, NY 12401.
