TREE ID AT EBNP
April 6, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Esopus Creek Conservancy and the John Burroughs Natural History Society are co- sponsoring a Tree Identification Walk at Esopus Bend Nature Preserve in Saugerties on Saturday, April 06, 2019. Vern Rist will lead us at a leisurely pace through a variety of woodland habitats in the Nature Preserve. Meet 9:00 a.m. in the Saugerties Village Beach parking lot on Rte. 9W, just north of the Esopus Creek bridge, at the foot of Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties. Bring binoculars and tree guides if you have them, and be prepared for early spring conditions that may include cold air temperatures, snow, ice, or muddy trails. Heavy rain or snow will cancel the walk. Children are welcome and encouraged, but please do not bring pets. Contact Steve Chorvas (firstname.lastname@example.org) for additional information or directions. This joint ECC/JBNHS Environmental Education walk is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required, but recommended in the event of unforeseen changes or cancellation. For additional information about upcoming ECC Nature Walks and Paddles, please visit www.esopuscreekconservancy.org.
The field trips of JBNHS are oriented to nature study. They are free and open to the public. We do, however, sometimes visit sites that charge admission fees, which are the responsibility of the participants. Children are very welcome on field trips, but pets are not. Although there is a brief courtesy waiting period for latecomers, the meeting times are important: please arrive in time to sign up with the leader.
