FRANKLIN MOUNTAIN FOR GOLDENS
November 14 - November 15

The Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society’s Sanctuary which in home to the Franklin Mountain Hawk watch, renowned as one of the best locations east of the Mississippi for autumn passage of Golden Eagles. Franklin Mountain is also a good spot for other late season raptor migrants and even winter finch flights. We’ll leave Kingston Saturday morning and go directly to the hawk watch approximately two hours away. We can bird environs around Oneonta Sunday morning for passerines and then get a second crack at the hawk watch (and hopefully proper conditions) before getting on the road home.
A ten room block has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express in Oneonta for JBNHS members. Please call (1-607-684-2000) and identify yourself as a JBNHS member and reference the group code “FMH” to save your room and receive the discounted rate. Once you have done that let Mark DeDea (forsythnature@aol.com) know you’ve signed up.
